Day 12: What Is Released Determines What Is Received
Breaking Bread — 31-Day Devotional Journey
Scripture Reference: Luke 6:38
Apostle Daniel McClendon shares insight from Luke 6:38 on giving, responsibility, and multiplication through Kingdom principles.
Luke 6:38 declares a governing principle of life in the Kingdom of God: giving initiates increase. Scripture does not define what “it” is, because the responsibility of definition rests with the one who gives. Whatever is desired—honor, mercy, forgiveness, attention, encouragement—must first be released. This passage reveals that increase is not passive; it is activated through intentional action.
Giving is not limited to material things but includes posture, behavior, and response toward others. Luke 6:38 establishes that multiplication follows initiative, not demand. What is withheld cannot be multiplied, and what is released cannot be stopped by others. The Word teaches that the greatest barrier to receiving is refusing to give. This principle applies equally to positive and negative actions, making personal responsibility central to outcome.
Life responds to what is sown. When generosity governs behavior, return follows in like measure. God’s design places agency in the hands of the giver, making obedience the pathway to abundance and alignment with His order.
